PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a side collision sensing device capable of quickly sensing a side collision condition. SOLUTION: A long pressure sensor 58 is arranged on an outer side of a front side door 16, and a light receiving part 42 is mounted on a rear end of an inner impact beam 32. A light emission part 48 is arranged on a front pillar 20 side, and a hole 50 for transmitting light beams is formed on a door inner panel 28. Similarly, a pressure sensor 60, a light emission part 54, and a light receiving part 52 are arranged on a rear side door 18 side, and a hole 56 is formed on a door inner panel 36. For example, when a collision element collides with a side face of the front side door 16, a pressure sensor 58 is turned on, and the light receiving part 42 relatively moved due to intrusion to inside in a vehicle width direction of a door outer panel. Alternatively, lights are shielded, a condition is changed from on-state to off-state. Side collision is sensed by an intrusion quantity of the door outer panel, so as to realize quick sensing.
