A method for synchronizing network management topology data, applied to a client, includes: sending a first data identifier, ID, and a first status identifier associated with a first data on a client to a server (303); receiving a second data on the server from the server (305), where a second data ID associated with the second data is identical with the first data ID, and a second status identifier associated with the second data is different from the first status identifier (304); and updating the first data according to the second data (306). A method applied to a server, a client and a server are disclosed as well. By the solution, only changed data is transmitted during data synchronization; therefore, data interactions are greatly reduced; time consumption is reduced; probability of service loss is lowered.
