The microscope (100) has a main lens (101), which is pushed into a monitoring optical path (106), and an optical coherence tomography (OCT) system (120) for verifying an object area (108), where the OCT system has a OCT scanning optical path (123), which is guided through the main lens. A coupling unit is provided in a monitoring optical path for coupling the scanning optical path into the monitoring optical path, and for guiding through the main lens to the object area. The coupling unit is designed as a beam splitter (150) such as plane mirror or divider cube.
