Vehicle door system with two vehicle doors

The system has vehicle doors (2, 3) movable in a common opening of a body, and a collision protection device with reinforcing units (13, 14) that reinforce the doors and are respectively arranged in attachment areas of the doors. The units in a closing position of the doors are arranged at a distance from each other in an ideal position, in which the doors are movable together. The units are brought against each other in a working position through collision against the doors. The units reinforce the areas and cooperate to transfer force between the areas in the working position.
