A streaming type avatar system and an avatar server for the same are provided to reduce load of a client PC, prevent increase of resources, and expand avatar items infinitely by providing avatar information to the client PC in a streaming mode and providing only the minimum information to the client PC in a 3D(Dimensional) file type. A storage unit(140) stores 3D avatar files and a 3D engine storing part(125) stores a 3D engine for displaying an avatar. A database system(130) stores management information of the 3D avatar files. A web server(115) receives an avatar information request from a client PC(150), transfers the request to the database system, and transfers the management information received from the database system to the client PC. A web server interface(120) interfaces the web server and the database system. The client PC includes the 3D engine downloaded from the 3D engine storing part of an avatar server(110). The 3D engine displays a 3D avatar screen by using the 3D avatar file received from the storage unit based on the management information.
