A method and a system for evaluating a probe performance are provided to decrease an evaluating time by automatically performing the evaluating process using a single unified system. An ultrasound receiving body(110) receives an ultrasound signal transmitted from a probe. A position aligning unit(120) aligns a position of the probe with respect to the ultrasound receiving body. A signal measuring unit(130) measures a received signal from the ultrasound receiving body and generates a measured result. A signal analyzer(140) generates an analyzed result representing characteristics of the probe from the measured result. A report generator(150) generates an evaluation report on the performance of the probe based on the analyzed result. A storage unit(160) stores the measured result, the analyzed result, and the evaluation report. An output unit(170) displays the evaluation report.
