<p>The method involves determining a negative pressure buildup upto a specified negative pressure buildup threshold, and measuring an assigned negative pressure buildup time. Negative pressure decay is determined up to a specified negative pressure decay threshold. An assigned negative pressure decay time is measured. The negative pressure buildup time and the negative pressure decay time are added to form a total diagnosis time and are compared to a diagnosis time threshold. A fault signal is produced, when the diagnosis time threshold is not reached. An independent claim is also included for a method of measuring leakage in tank ventilation system for an internal combustion engine.</p> |
