<p>The use of multilayer material (6) as floor covering for animal stalls (especially for factory farming), where material (6) has at least two layers S1 (1) (facing the ground) and S2 (2) (uppermost layer), in which layer S1 consists of foam or fibrous material, S2 is a weldable thermoplastic material containing at least 30 wt.% thermoplastic polymer(s) (P2) and there is a seal (4) at the edge of the material (6). An independent claim is also included for a method for covering the floors of animal stalls, by (a) making layers S1, S2 and optionally S3 (a further thermoplastic layer), (b) contacting S1 with S2 and optionally S3 so that S2 and S3 are on opposite sides of S1 (or contacting S2 with S3 and then inserting S1 between S2 and S3), (c) laying S1 or possibly S3 on the floor and (d) sealing the edges of the material with the seal (4); in this process, stage (c) may come before or after (b) and stage (d) may come before or after (c).</p> |
