METHOD FOR PREPARING OF SPHERICAL TITANIUM DIOXIDE POWDER

A method for preparing spherical titanium dioxide powder is provided to produce the titanium dioxide powder having good hiding power and excellent UV-blocking abilities even in a UV-B region and a UV-A region. A method for preparing a spherical titanium dioxide powder includes the steps of: (a) dispersing a titanium dioxide in a water phase to prepare an aqueous titanium dioxide dispersion; and (b) mixing the prepared aqueous titanium dioxide dispersion with a water glass to impregnate the titanium dioxide with silicon dioxide. The titanium dioxide is dispersed in an aqueous phase in an amount of 10-70wt%. The aqueous titanium dioxide dispersion and silicon dioxide are mixed in a weight ratio of 10-70:90-10.
