Aminoalkyl-alkoxy-silanes or their cocondensates with other functional silanes are used as binders in composite materials based on cellulose- or lignocellulose-containing material. Composite material (CM) based on (a) cellulose- or lignocellulose-containing material and (b) binder(s) comprising aminoalkylsilane(s) of formula R 1>(R 2>)N(C(R 4>)H) aSi(R 3>) rOR 3-r (I), or cocondensate(s) of (I) and other functional silane(s) of formula R 7>(C(R 6>)H) bSi(R 5>) pOR 3-p (II) in which the amino groups may be partly or completely neutralised with inorganic or organic acid, or an aqueous solution containing (I) or such cocondensate(s). R 1>, R 2>H, 1-20C alkyl (linear, branched or cyclic), aryl or aminocarbyl (all optionally substituted); R 4>, R 6>H or methyl; a : 1-10; R 3>, R 5>, R : H or 1-8C alkyl (linear or branched); r, p : 0, 1 or 2; R 7>H, vinyl, amino, glycidyloxy, (meth)acryloxy, mercapto, sulfane, 1-20C alkyl or aryl (all optionally substituted); b : 0-18. An independent claim is included for a method for the production of CM by treating dried or moist material (a) with a liquid binder (b) as above, placing the treated material in a mould and hot-pressing it. |
