Device and method for finishing sheet-like substrates

The module has a printed sheet e.g. substrate, fed from a transport unit to the module into a processing gap between two processing cylinders (8, 9), where the processing cylinders are gripper less. The transport unit is designed as a duplex rotating toothed chain, conveyors or winding cable, between which a pick up carrier or pneumatic suction ledges for guiding of the printed sheet at a front edge are provided. The printed sheet is guided into the processing gap between two rotating processing rollers. An independent claim is also included for a method for synchronization of a transport unit in a processing module.
