System for reducing power plant emissions

A power plant (8) is provided. The power plant (8) includes a gas turbine engine assembly (10). The power plant (8) further includes a carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) separator (80) in flow communication with the gas turbine engine assembly, the CO 2 separator configured to substantially remove the CO 2 from a gas turbine engine exhaust stream to produce a CO 2 lean exhaust stream. The power plant (8) further includes an expander (62) configured to reduce an operating temperature of the CO 2 lean exhaust stream such that the cooled CO 2 lean exhaust stream may be utilized to reduce an operating temperature of air entering the gas turbine engine assembly.
