A method and a system for performing an automatic CAT(Category) cable configuration are provided to perform the processes of signals communicated through the differently combined CAT cable configurations. A local network(163) includes Internet(165), a server(151), cables(153A,153B,153C), a router(155), an access point(157), a PC(159), and a lap-top computer(161). The server is operated continuously on the network and includes proper circuits, logics and/or codes for serving another system on the network. The router forwards the data packets to proper destinations such as the access point, server and PC and the like. The CAT cable configuration includes other categories including CAT3 to CAT7. The access point is combined with the router through a cable(153B). The local network communicates with the Internet through the router. The router communicates with the server, access point and PC through the cables.
