[Class 144 (i)] A snap-on hub-cap 20 is formed with an axially-directed, slightly-conical flange 19 for frictional engagement with the severed edges 18 of a series of projections 17 struck up from the shouldered portion 12 of the wheel-body 15. As shown in Fig. 2, the projections may be incurved adjacent the edges 18 which may be chamfered to localize the holding-pressure on the cap-flange. To ensure contact of the cap and the wheel-body at the edge only of the flange 19, an abutment step 25, or a separately applied bridge-piece, may be provided at the locations of the edges 18.
