A terminal apparatus is connected to a server apparatus via a network. Active character information capable of specifying an active character is tranmitted to the server apparatus. A movement instruction used to move the active character in a virtual space is inputted. Movement information is transmitted to the server apparatus in accordance with the movement instruction. Visible range information capable of specifying all of the player characters each existing in a visible range is received. A display device displays the visible range in which all of the player characters specified by the visible range information are arranged so that the player character that one player of the terminal apparatus causes to participate in the network game can be distinguished from other player character that another player causes to participate in the network game and so that the player can distinguish the active character from non-active characters.
