A mold positioning device for a press with a movable mold is provided to switch off operation of the press when dust with a fine thickness exists in the right position of the movable mold. A mold positioning device for a press with a movable mold includes a press unit, an upper mold(100) and a lower mold(200). The press unit generates pressing force by an upper mold driving unit(60). The upper mold punches a workpiece by being lowered by the pressing force of the press unit. The lower mold is guided by a slide rail(51). A plurality of stopper sensors(30) are arranged at a predetermined interval on an upper plate(20) of the press. The stopper sensors surface-contact a rear surface of a lower base(54) for fixing the lower mold and restrict the retreat movement of the lower base.
