RANDOM ACCESS METHOD IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A random access method in a wireless communication system is provided to prevent an unnecessary delay in the process of random access in a wireless communication system. A UE transmits a random access preamble to an eNode B together with a signature(S61). In response to the random access preamble, the eNode B transmits a random access response message to the UE(S62). In case the random access response message contains the signature and admission information for the UE's signature transmission, the UE transmits a MAC scheduling request message to the eNode B(S63). However, in case the random access response message contains the signature and rejection information for the UE's signature transmission or in case the signature doesn't exist in the random access message, the UE retransmits the random access preamble again. If the MAC scheduling request message is received from the UE, the MAC layer of the eNode B transmits a resource grant message and a MAC contention resolution message to the UE(S64).
