<p>A method for predicting recurrence or aggressiveness of prostatic carcinoma is provided to analyze characteristics such as progress state and aggressiveness of the prostatic carcinoma effectively by analyzing the methylation degree of a target gene. A method for predicting recurrence or aggressiveness of prostatic carcinoma comprises the steps of: (a) measuring a Gleason score of a prostatic carcinoma sample; and (b) measuring the methylation state of a marker from a biological sample of patients with the Gleason score of more than 7 and is characterized in that the methylation exceeding a predetermined value becomes a marker of an aggressive or recurrent cancer and the methylation not exceeding the predetermined value becomes a marker of a painless cancer. The method further comprises a step of measuring the existence of a reference marker such as beta-actin and PTGS2. A kit for performing analysis of predicting progress or aggressiveness of the prostatic cancer comprises a reagent for nucleic acid amplification and detection and a guide for instructing use for patients with exemplified Gleason score of more than 7.</p> |
