METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DISPLAY OF TUOCH SCREEN KEYBOARD

A method and a device for displaying a touch screen keyboard are provided to enable a user to perform key input at high speed by forming one full face of a portable terminal with a touch screen LCD and displaying the touch screen keyboard on the touch screen LCD. A memory(204) stores a terminal operation program and various kinds of data. A function switch key(202) transfers a function switch signal received from a user to a controller(206). A TSP(Touch Sense Panel)(210) transfers a screen touch input coordinate signal of the user to the controller. The controller controls all operations of the terminal by using the terminal operation program, and displays a touch screen keyboard screen and a character display screen in a widthwise direction of the terminal when a command is received from the function switch key. An LCD(212) displays the keyboard screen by control of the controller. A touch screen I/O(Input/Output) part(208) includes the TSP and the LCD, and inputs/outputs the touch screen signal to the controller. The controller displays a key screen needed for predetermined functions to both ends of the terminal and executes an application in the remaining widthwise screen when the function switch key is received.
