A method for manufacturing a flat fluorescent lamp is provided to shorten a manufacturing time of the lamp by simultaneously performing processes of vacuuming an interior of the lamp, introducing a gas in the lamp and diffusing a mercury gas in the lamp. A first substrate(200) having plural unit panels(210) with discharge channels, a gas inlet port(230) formed in flush with a plane of the discharge channels, and an exhaust pipe(220) connected to the unit panels is formed on a mother board. A second substrate is bonded to the first substrate. Gas in the discharge channel is exhausted, and then an inert gas and a mercury gas are introduced in the discharge channel. The discharge channel is sealed, and then the mother board is cut in a unit panel.
