The method involves making a short-circuit in a stator of a dual fed asynchronous generator (10), and powering the generator over frequency converters (22, 24) on a pre-determined rotational speed from an operating area. The short-circuit is cancelled in the stator after powering the generator, the generator is synchronized with an electrical main power supply (36) and is controlled for producing reactive power. A gearbox (14) and the asynchronous generator are decoupled from each other during a phase shifter operation. An independent claim is also included for a wind turbine with a dual fed asynchronous generator. |
