An electronic payment means, such as a credit card with an embedded "smart card" chip, is used to effect payment for a ticket and to store ticket data. The memory of the chip includes a plurality of empty, generic data stores for storing the ticket data in a structure defined by the ticket issuer. Consequently, the electronic payment means may be used to purchase tickets from any of a number of different ticket issuers who may use different ticket data structures. |
