WIRELESS NETWORK EMULATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE SAME

A wireless network emulation system and a method thereof are provided to simplify an application development process by configuring an application development environment containing a wireless network simulator so as to reflect the characteristics of a wireless network. A wireless network emulation system comprises an emulator(100) and a wireless network simulator(200). The emulator comprises an application, a message processor, and a packet transmit-receive part. The application is operated on the basis of a communication terminal's operation environment implemented on a computer. The message processor transmits and receives messages through a communication module in the application. The packet transmit-receive part packetizes the messages and transmits/receives the packets. The wireless network simulator comprises a packet transmit-receive part and a wireless network characteristic reflection part. The packet transmit-receive part transmits and receives the transmitted and received packets after buffering them in a packet buffer. The wireless network characteristic reflection part delays or deletes the packets stored in the packet buffer according to the characteristics of a wireless network or generates errors for bits of packets.
