A plasma display panel is provided to block dispersion of visible rays emitted from discharge cells by forming a light focusing portion on each surface of discharge cells. A first substrate(11) and a second substrate(21) are opposite to each other, and barrier ribs(24) are interposed between the first and second substrates to define discharge cells(26) in a discharge space between the substrates. Pair of transparent electrodes(12) having X electrode side transparent electrodes and Y electrode transparent electrodes are extended on the first substrate. Pairs of bus electrodes(13) are electrically connected to the transparent electrodes, and address electrodes(22) are extended on the second substrate to cross the pairs of bus electrodes. A first dielectric layer(15) is formed on the first substrate to bury the transparent electrodes and bus electrodes, and a second dielectric layer(23) is formed on the second substrate to bury address electrodes. A protective layer(16) is formed on the first dielectric layer, and focusing portions(14) are formed on each surface of the discharge cells over the first substrate.
