A brightness compensation method of a display device is provided to compensate the reduction of brightness of the display device according to the increase of the use time. When power is turned on(S10), the time is counted(S20). The counted time is added to previously stored use time to display use time continuously until now on(S30). When the calculated use time is reached to 5 hours(S40), the set first correction value is read(S45), and the brightness of a screen is corrected according to the first correction value(S80). When the calculated use time is reached to 10 hours(S50), the set second correction value is read(S55) and the brightness of a screen is corrected according to the second correction value. When the use time of the display is calculated, a process for discriminating whether the calculated use time exceeds the predetermined time is performed. When the calculated use time exceeds the predetermined time, the correction values of brightness and light intensity set at the corresponding setting time are read and the brightness is controlled by the read correction values.
