A home network system using Bluetooth and a method therefor are provided to calculate a transmissible transmission rate of a Bluetooth communication channel, and to control the transmission capacity of a video signal according to the calculated transmission rate, thereby avoiding excessive traffic on the communication channel. A home network controller(200) comprises as follows. A Bluetooth unit(260) enables data communication with a wireless controller by using an RF(Radio Frequency). A transmission rate calculator(270) monitors a traffic state of a communication channel between the wireless controller and the Bluetooth unit, and calculates a transmission rate. A video signal processor(220) controls transmission capacities of a video signal transmitted from a remote controller apparatus, so that the video signal has transmission capacities suitable for the calculated data transmission rate.
