The present invention relates to a composition comprising an extract of green coffee bean, an extract of Salacia oblonga and diacylglycerol for increasing ß-oxidation of fatty acids while maintaining blood glucose concentration through the inhibition of carbohydrate absorption. A method for increasing ß-oxidation of fatty acids while maintaining blood glucose concentration following food consumption through the inhibition of carbohydrate absorption is additionally provided.
