A cardiovascular valve assembly comprising: a base member attachable to a tissue, the base member including at least one mounting portion; and a mechanical valve member comprising: a first valve body section; a second valve body section; at least one leaflet pivotally mounted to at least one of said first and second valve body sections, said at least one leaflet movable between an open position and closed position; and at least one coupling element engageable with said at least one mounting portion to allow said mechanical cardiovascular valve member to be coupled to and decoupled from said base member. |
