#CMT# #/CMT# The device (1) has an inflating chamber (2) e.g. deformable pouch, whose volume is modifiable by injection or withdrawal of an inflating fluid. A pressure limiter unit (4) is arranged for maintaining filling pressure of the inflating fluid reigning in the inflating chamber below a critical pressure when the inflating fluid is injected into the inflating chamber. The limiter unit is provided with an exhaust unit (11) e.g. overflow duct, for communicating the chamber with exterior of the device to partly evacuate the inflating fluid towards the exterior of the device. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Implantable medical device e.g. intra-gastric balloon, cuff and inflatable constriction ring such as gastric ring and artificial sphincter, for being implanted in a body of a patient for treating obesity (all claimed), for occlusion of blood vessel, for eliminating thrombosis, for deployment of stent, and for reducing a section of a natural duct. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The pressure limiter unit is arranged for maintaining filling pressure of the inflating fluid reigning in the inflating chamber below the critical pressure when the inflating fluid is injected into the inflating chamber, thus avoiding over inflation susceptible to harm the patient, and avoiding dysfunction or failure of the medical device.
