A reader emits a low frequency signal to energize a RPID tag. The RFID ta g responds with a high frequency signal. An antenna on the RFID tag function s as a resonant circuit upon receiving the low frequency signal to power up the RFID tag. In one embodiment, the high frequency signal is a millimetre f requency signal.
