The method involves optimizing frequency resources used by radio communication terminals present in a cellular communication network. The optimizing operation includes selecting a specific transport format for each terminal from a shortened list of transport formats, and allocating a frequency band to each terminal. The frequency band has a size based on the selected transport format. The shortened list is determined for each terminal and issued from an authorized list associated to the terminal. An independent claim is also included for a computer program product comprising program code instructions for implementing a transmission resource managing method.
