A method and an apparatus for detecting ACK/NACK feedback information in a digital communication system are provided to reduce a determining error for an ACK or NACK response signal by comparing a received response signal with a predetermined critical value. An apparatus for detecting ACK/NACK feedback information in a digital communication system comprises a signal quality measuring part(310), a signal quality comparing part(320), and a decoding operating part(330). The signal quality measuring part measures a signal quality parameter of a received response signal. The signal quality comparing part compares the measured signal quality parameter with a first critical value. The decoding operating part decodes the received response signal and operates a decoding signal when the signal quality parameter is more than the first critical value as a result of the comparison.
