A method for realizing a preview function and a terminal therefor are provided to enable a user to simply confirm contents of user data through a preview function even though a user moves a focus only, thereby increasing the user's convenience. When a user data confirm request is inputted, a list of user data is displayed on the first display(400~420). User data where an indicator is positioned is confirmed from the list. A keypad shape for inputting a key displayed on the second display is changed into detailed contents of the confirmed user data, so that the changed contents are displayed(430). It is decided whether movement of the indicator exists while the detailed contents of the user data are displayed(440). According to the movement of the indicator, the keypad shape is changed into detailed contents of user data where the moved indicator is positioned, so that the changed contents are displayed.
