Compounds of the Formula (Il) wherein R<SUP>1</SUP> is H, OH, F R<SUP>2 </SUP> is -CH<SUB>2</SUB>CH(CH<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>, -CH<SUB>2</SUB>C(CH<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>3</SUB> or -CH(CH<SUB>3</SUB>)(CH<SUB>2</SUB>CH<SUB>3</SUB>); R<SUP>2'</SUP> is H; or R<SUP>2</SUP> and R<SUP>2'</SUP> together with the adjacent C atom defines cyclohexyl; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, hydrates and N-oxides thereof have utility in the treatment of disorders characterised by inappropriate expression or activation of cathepsin K, such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or bone metastases.
