Under circumstances where data traffic is less, such as during night, when a pilot transmission is performed in a downlink radio interval, subframes are divided into (1) first subframes in which common pilots are transmitted in the whole transmission band and (2) second subframes in which common pilots are transmitted in a predetermined narrow band within the whole transmission band, and then the first subframes are transmitted in a given period, while the second subframes are transmitted during the other time intervals. |
