An operation control method and an electronic device capable of realizing the method are provided to cope with abnormality through another function if one function is not normal within the electronic device, thereby minimizing a user's inconvenience caused by operation disability of a certain function within the electronic device. Alarm time and an alarm type are set(S210). A probability whether the first type alarm normally operates is checked(S220). If it is decided that the first type alarm does not normally operate, the second type alarm different from a sort of the first type alarm operates at the alarm time(S240). The first type alarm refers to a high-power consumption type alarm while the second type alarm is a low-power consumption type alarm. |
