The sensor (1) has a main case (15) with an inner end surface (15b) that is to be disposed perpendicular to a direction of the vibrations. A sensor chip (10) senses a pressure in an environment i.e. interior space, formed in a door of a vehicle and generates a sensing signal representative of the sensed pressure. The sensor chip has a pressure-receiving surface (10a) and is secured in the case with the pressure-receiving surface perpendicular to an inner surface of the case. A circuit chip (14) processes the sensing signal generated by the sensor chip.
