A gripping device (14) for gripping a printed product (40) including a first gripper arm (22) having a first gripper pad (24) on one end pivotable about a first pivot (26), a second gripper arm (23) having a second gripper pad (25) on one end pivotable about a second pivot (27), and an actuator rotating the first and second gripper arms about the first and second pivots respectfully to move both the first and second gripper pads (24, 25) downwardly to grip the printed product (40). A method is also provided.
