PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a book search apparatus that enables users to easily find useful materials.

SOLUTION: The book search apparatus comprises a search DB 16 used for search by users to store catalog information including bibliographic data on books or magazines in association with virtual bookshelf information for displaying a virtual bookshelf, a catalog information search means 101 for inputting a search condition sent from a user client device via a network and searching the search DB 16 for catalog information satisfying the input search condition, a catalog information presentation means 102 for presenting the searched catalog information to the user client device 15, a virtual bookshelf search means 103 for searching the search DB 16 for the virtual bookshelf information associated with the presented catalog information, and a virtual bookshelf presentation means 104 for presenting the searched virtual bookshelf information to the user client device.
