PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display and its manufacturing method excellent in displaying quality. SOLUTION: The display is provided with TFT 108 with irregularities on its surface, a flattening film 15 formed on the pattern of the TFT 108, an anode 16 formed on the flattening film 15, a separation film 17 having an opening on the anode 16, an organic EL layer 18b formed on the anode 16 in the opening, and a cathode 19 formed on the organic EL layer 18b. When a symbol (a) denotes the step of a pattern on the lower surface of the flattening film 15 caused by the irregularities on the pattern surface of the TFT 108, and a symbol (b) denotes the film thickness of the flattening film 15; a region represented as b/a≥3.5 exists in a boundary region between the separation film 17 and the opening.
