PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a connector having a desired number of poles while avoiding increase of size. SOLUTION: A flexibly deformable lance 12 elastically locking a terminal fitting is arranged on a lance connection plate 16 of a cavity block 10. One wall within circumferential walls is completely cut out as an open surface 19, and the whole side surface of the lance 12 faces the open surface 19. A plurality of connection parts 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 are formed at both front and rear ends of the cavity block 10. The cavity block 10 is connected to a housing 60 having one cavity 11 while including a part having the same shape as that of the cavity block 10 through the mutual connection parts 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26, and the open surface 19 of the cavity block 10 is closed by an end plate 62 of the housing 60 with its connection operation.
