<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording medium, which has a lustrous feeling as high as that of a silver salt photograph and realizes high ink absorbency in particular and abrasion resistance in a recording layer. <P>SOLUTION: In the inkjet recording medium, a recording layer containing a pigment and polyvinyl alcohol is provided on a support with air permeability, a treatment liquid with a function of coagulating the polyvinyl alcohol is applied on the recording layer and is press bonded on a mirror finish surface having the recording layer heated during the wet state of the layer to be dried, imparting gloss to the surface of the recording layer. The polyvinyl alcohol contains two components consisting of a polyvinyl alcohol (a) having a saponification number of 98 to 99 mol% of a polymerization degree of at least 1,000 or less and a polyvinyl alcohol (b) having a saponification number of 87 to 89 mol% of a polymerization degree of 1,500 or more, and the treatment liquid contains borate and boric acid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
