<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect an object pattern at high speed by extracting a partial region to perform pattern collation, referring to a feature distribution map prepared from the feature detection of an object. <P>SOLUTION: This image processor detecting a predetermined object pattern from an image comprises a component candidate extracting means for extracting the partial features of the object from the image; a component candidate distribution map data originating means for indicating the positions of component candidates extracted by the component candidate extracting means; a collation pattern extracting means for referring to the component candidate distribution map prepared by the component candidate distribution map preparing means to extract the predetermined partial region for collation with the object pattern from the image based on the position relationship of a plurality of features extracted by the component candidate extracting means; and a pattern discriminating means for discriminating whether the partial region extracted by the collation pattern extracting means is the object pattern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
