PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device wherein the reduction in static elimination effects of a static elimination brush is improved, and also, the life of the brush is prolonged. SOLUTION: The fixing device 50 includes: a fixing roller 1 with a heating means such as a heater therein, for melting a toner image to be transferred on a recording paper P and fixing the image to the recording paper P; a pressure roller 2 coming in contact with the fixing roller 1 so as to form a nip width N and pressurize the recording paper P by a prescribed pressure; a cleaning roller 3 for cleaning the residual toner stuck to the fixing roller 1 through the pressure roller 2; the static elimination brushes 4 for eliminating the static electricity charged on the recording paper P while being rotated by the conveying force of the recording paper P; a rotating shaft 5 on which the brushes 4 are disposed at equal intervals in the peripheral direction thereof, and also, disposed uniformly in the axis direction thereof; and a cleaning member 6 for removing the deposits such as paper powder stuck to the brushes 4 by allowing the rotating shaft 5 to rotate to be abutted on the leading ends of the brushes 4.
