A system ( 1 ) for playing board games comprises a game board ( 2 ) and at least one pawn ( 20 ). The game board comprises display means ( 4, 5 and 6 ) for displaying on a board surface ( 3 ) a game board layout. The display means are further arranged to display a pawn input image ( 22 ) on the board surface ( 3 ). The pawn ( 20 ) comprises a contact surface ( 21 ) for supporting the pawn ( 20 ) on the board surface ( 3 ), and an image input part ( 23 ) cooperating with the board surface ( 3 ) to receive the pawn input image ( 22 ). The pawn also comprises an image surface ( 24 ) to display a pawn output image ( 25 ), and means for conducting ( 26 ) the pawn input image ( 24 ) from the image input part ( 23 ) to the image surface ( 24 ). |
