PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Ti-based high-strength superelastic alloy having high strength, low Young's modulus and high cold workability. SOLUTION: This Ti-based high-strength superelastic alloy is a single-phase solid solution having a composition consisting of, by weight, 12 to 30% Nb, 12 to 30% Zr, 1 to 6% Al, 1 to 8% Cr, 1 to 8% Sn and the balance Ti. Since the Ti-based high-strength superelastic alloy is a single-phase solid solution of beta phase at ordinary temperature, it has high cold workability and also has an extended elastic deformation region and exhibits high ductility. Moreover, an alloy most suitably used as a spring material can be obtained by applying prescribed cold working to the above alloy. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
