PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid separation membrane element with a fluid treating capacity of the fluid separation membrane element enhanced by making a membrane area of the fluid separation membrane larger than a conventional one while keeping the size of a fluid separation membrane module by thinning outer circumferential rings. SOLUTION: This fluid separation membrane element has a tensile modulus of elasticity of the outer circumferential rings 4a, 4b fixing an end outer circumferential part of the fluid separation membrane element consisting of a selective permeable membrane of 1,800-5,000 kg/mm<SP>2</SP>.
