<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation input device capable of accurately grasping the intention of an operator by detecting, catching, and analyzing movement of a hand and fingers of the operator with a simple system configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes a hand's back detection means 5 for detecting the movement and posture of the back of the hand with respect to a gravity acceleration direction by a triaxial acceleration sensor and angular velocity sensor mounted on the back of the operator's hand, and finger posture detection means 1 mounted on the fingers for detecting each finger posture and having an angular velocity sensor to detect a bending motion or posture of finger joints in a bending direction. The device obtains angular acceleration information based on angular velocity information obtained from the finger posture detection means 1 or the hand's back detection means 5, monitors whether the angular acceleration information exceeds a first threshold value. When the threshold value is exceeded, the device detects a collision in a subsequent timing by determining whether the angular acceleration information falls within a second threshold value, and determines as a button input operation by the finger or the back of the hand. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
