PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a coin hopper device. SOLUTION: This coin hopper device has: an electric motor 15 invertedly disposed in one end part of a rectangular bottom plate 11; a base plate having a nearly same shape covered on the bottom plate except the electric motor; a ring part penetratingly holding the electric motor in one end part of the base plate; a first gear means 16 fixed to a projection end of a rotary shaft of the electric motor; a disk means discharging a coin onto the bottom of a coin storage hopper one by one; second gear means 25, 26 rotating the disk means; and gear train means 17, 21, 22, 23 connecting the second gear means and the first gear means. In the coin hopper device, the first gear means, the second gear means and the gear train means are arranged and stored between the bottom plate and the base plate, the disk means is disposed on the upper face of the base plate, a coin outlet is formed near the ring part of the base plate, and a coin counting sensor is provided on a side facing to the electric motor of the coin outlet.
