<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a lamp socket by eliminating conventional technical flaws to provide a lamp socket to which various types of lamps can be attached at various positions. <P>SOLUTION: The lamp socket 10 includes a housing 12 which has a longitudinal directional axis 14 and which also has a first plane 16 and a second plane 18 that separate from each other along the longitudinal axis and are perpendicular to each other. A lamp support center opening 20 is arranged to be concentric with the longitudinal directional axis. A lamp attaching means 21 that supports and electrically connects a lamp is formed on the first plane 16, and a means 21a that holds the lamp in the socket 10 is formed on the second plane 18. The lamp attaching means 21 includes a pair of first lamp contacts 22 and 24 that are positioned in a pair of first cavities 22' and 24' formed on the first plane 16. The means 21a includes a first lamp base support 30 and a second lamp base support 32 that are formed on the second plane 18, with which first and second lamp base retainers 38 and 40 are associated with the second plane 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
